Recently I went to Hammerstein Ballroom to see the French
band, M83. When we arrived we were lucky enough to get upgraded to the VIP
balcony area and were given free drinks. The show featured amazing lighting
effects and was a great final concert in NY.

Governors Island Calender for 2012 Summer Season
Governors Island opens up this weekend for the first time for 2012. The ferry across to the Island is free and is a great way to get out on the harbor and see the Manhattan Skyline. Events occur most weekends with a full calender available here.
I was lucky enough to attend the Rock The Bells hip hop festival last year that featured hip hop and RnB acts Black Star, Cypress Hill, Erykah Badu and Lauren Hill.

Ninth Avenue International Food Festival
This weekend on May 19 and 20, 15-blocks of Ninth Avenue will be shut down for a gastronomic extravaganza featuring cuisine from Poland, Greece, Italy, Spain, Asia and everywhere in between, with music and dancing to match. In years gone by I would always grab a homemade lemonade and some chicken kebabs.
